DeeOne made the allegation in an Instagram video on Tuesday while reacting to claims that the police had yet to arrest VeryDarkMan after he publicly stated that he would not honour the invitation for questioning.
The comedian questioned why VeryDarkMan appeared to be receiving different treatment from other Nigerians who had previously been arrested for allegedly failing to honour police invitations.
Citing the recent arrests of former Big Brother Naija housemate Tacha and businessman Blord, DeeOne argued that the law should apply equally to everyone, regardless of their status or popularity.
He said the police had arrested Tacha after she allegedly failed to honour invitations twice and had also arrested Blord over a similar situation.
According to DeeOne, VeryDarkMan had also been invited by the Nigeria Police Force twice and had openly declared that he would not honour the invitation, yet no arrest had been made.
He accused the IGP of preventing VeryDarkMan’s arrest and questioned whether Disu was working in the interest of Nigerians or protecting the social media personality.
DeeOne said: “They have approved for VeryDarkMan to be arrested. The person that is holding the arrest now is IGP Tunji Disu. So, Nigerians, is this man working for Nigerians or working for VeryDarkMan?”
He further warned the police chief that he would continue speaking about the matter and could make more personal revelations about the IGP if the situation persisted.
VeryDarkMan had earlier announced that he would not honour the police invitation after allegedly making a series of allegations against Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Jimoh Moshood.
